From idea to prototype to production to sales, the product development life cycle is one of the biggest considerations for young companies thinking about their commercial path to market. What does this product development life cycle look like for companies in Charlottesville? What are our resources and which companies are actually producing their products here?
Join us to hear from companies who are dealing with these issues. They'll share their experiences and challenges, whether they're prototyping or in production.
Chris Jessee, President at Cardboard Safari, will talk about local sourcing and job creation as he describes how Cardboard Safari blends art and technology in the fabrication of its beautiful sculptural forms.
Hear from Hillary Lewis, Founder & President at Lumi Juice, producing cold-pressed, high pressured processed juices right here in its Albemarle facility.
And learn from Michael Appleby, President and CEO at Mikro Systems, an R&D company widely known for its breakthrough manufacturing technologies.
Moderated by Lee Catlin, who oversees Albemarle County's economic development efforts, a CBIC board member, you'll get a full view of the region's manufacturing capabilities and meet others who are tackling product development questions.
Immediately following the panel discussion, stay for CBIC's brief annual meeting and the networking social from 5:30-7:30pm featuring light snacks and beverages!
PARKING: Please park in the lot to the far right of the building, or on the street. Here's a map to guide you.
