Topic: Red Flags! When is Exclusive Breastfeeding Not a Safe Care Plan? Identifying and Supporting the At-Risk Breastfeeding Dyad.

About the Speakers: Susan Aldana, IBCLC and Karen Peters, MBA, RD, IBCLC

Susan and Karen are experienced breastfeeding instructors. They have been faculty members of BreastfeedLA and taught the Birth and Beyond Los Angeles course throughout California assisting hospitals to meet the staff education requirement of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative. They are accredited La Leche Leaders, Board Certified Lactation Consultants and LLLI Peer Counselor Program Administrators.

Target Audience: Registered Nurses, Registered Dietitians, Nutritionists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Lactation Consultants & Educators, LLL Leaders, Breastfeeding USA Counselors, Health Educators, Case Managers, Home Visitors, Doulas, Breastfeeding Peer Counselors, Students, and others interested in supporting families in the initiation and maintenance of breastfeeding.

Applications in process for CERPs and CEUs.

Registration will begin at 8:30, Breakfast will be served 8:30-9:20 and the event will begin promptly at 9:30 am. Lunch will be served at noon on-site. In addition, we will have 2-15 minute breaks. Accomidations available for pumping moms.

Registration fees: Fee includes breakfast and lunch as well as continuing education credits.
