Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration
Event Information
About this Event
Advancement Project National Office will host an exclusive pre-event reception at the Washington National Cathedral starting at 2 p.m.
Light refreshments provided. Guests of our private reception will have reserved seating for the public program.
Advancement Project National Office is thrilled to once again support the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute at the Washington National Cathedral. This year's service will include excerpts from "Letter from a Birmingham Jail," written by Dr. King in 1963.
Join us as we uphold those imprisoned along with their families and communities and share information about supporting those who are in jail not "for conscience's sake" (as King wrote) but because of a system that unjustly criminalizes and incarcerates our black and brown neighbors.
Excerpts from Dr. King's "Letter" will be front and center; his words will be amplified by musical performances from Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel Choir and the Cathedral Band.
