Description

SCNY Celebrates 100 Years on Fifth Avenue
In honor of the celebration of 100 years on Fifth Avenue a very talented group of classical musicians from New York and abroad will present a musical program dedicated to the SCNY Celebration of 100 years on Fifth Avenue. This performance of American music written in the years 1917-1918 will transport the listener back through time to the era of the Club’s beginnings at 47 Fifth. Pianists Anna Keiserman and Inga Kashakashvili, in collaboration with cellist Mark Prihodko, will be your guides on this historic musical journey.

About the program:
The program includes 1917-18 masterpieces by Gershwin, Joplin, Ornstein, Griffes and Bauer, in addition to "Space Carnival", a new piece by composer George Oakley written specially for this festive SCNY musical centennial gathering.

The performers:
Anna Keiserman: pianist classically trained in Russia, winner of numerous national and international competitions, has performed in Russia, Italy, Ukraine, and the US; adjunct professor at NYU and Rutgers, doctoral candidate.
Inga Kashakashvili, pianist, prizewinner of numerous international competitions, has performed around the world at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and venues in England.
Mark Prihodko, cellist, has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall, has performed in Russia, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Germany, US, and Lithunia. Mark is currently studying at Julliard under a Kovner Fellowship.
George Oakley, Georgian composer, his piano compositions were premiered at Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center, co-producer and composer for film documentary Misha vs. Moscow aired on the Documentary Channel.
