About this event

At the sight of Anna, Alexey fell for her like he never knew love existed. She was amused by this sweet, funny, and passionate young man. Count Alexey Vronsky wanted all of her, impatiently, forever. Princess Anna Karenina struggled at his adoring eyes. Then, they danced... Their breath simply stopped. She made him invincible. He made her vulnerable. Her laughter played the strings of His soul, and His desire made Her know bliss. Then society deserted Anna and she did not survive.

Chiara Ajkun's Anna Karenina is one of the most romantic love stories. One that will make you feel, cry, dream but also think on the role of society in our most intimate choices. Inspired by the novel written by Leon Tolstoy, the story deals with society’s expectations versus the desire of living a more fulfilling life.

Music by Dario Marianelli.

Momoko Burbine (Anna), Klevis Tafaj (Alexey, original cast, Lincoln Center 2017) and the Ajkun Ballet Theatre.
