CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN MIT'S TANG CENTER, 2 AMHERST STREET, CAMBRIDGE IN LOWER LEVEL ROOM 095: Building and Room Map and Info
SATURDAY, MAY 10, 2015
10AM-1PM: Introduction to Lace Design (3 hours). Learn how to design your own lace shawl. We’ll start out talking about general considerations, like shaping, lace patterning, edge treatment, texture, stitch counts and yarn choice. And then we’ll start charting your very own triangular design.
If you have any stitch dictionaries, feel free to bring them to class. I’ll bring some as well, but the more the merrier.
2PM-5PM: Reversible Cables (3 hours). All cables are not created equal! No matter how gorgeous they look from the front, they may not always look so gorgeous from the back. That’s ok for some garments, but for things like scarves or blankets, that are often seen from both sides, not so good. In this class, you’ll learn three different techniques to knit cables that look good on both sides.
