So that we can most efficiently use our class time, basic familiarity of the location and function of the following structures will be assumed. Most structures will be directly addressed by the techniques taught; some indirectly. Structures listed as a "group" (e.g., "Flexor group") will be addressed together, and so less specific knowledge of the constituent muscles will be assumed. About your Instructor, Til Luchau
With a diverse background that includes experience and contributions in the fields of manual therapy, post-secondary eductation, somatic psychology, as well as organizational and leadership development, Til's ability to connect interdisciplinary, big picture ideas to practical, real-world applications has made his trainings and events popular worldwide. As a Certified Advanced Rolfer®, Til is a former faculty member and Coordinator of the Rolf Institute's Foundations of Rolfing Structural Integration program, where in the early 1990's he originated Skillful Touch Bodywork (the Rolf Institute's own training and practice modality). As the author of Advanced Myofascial Techniques textbook series, his regular column has appeared in Massage & Bodywork magazine since 2009, and his articles have been published in magazines and peer-reviewed technical journals in Australia, Canada, Poland, the UK, and the USA. Formerly a resident practitioner at the Esalen Institute, Chair of the Rolf Institute's Teacher Training Committee, and Adjunct Faculty member of Naropa University's Somatic Psychology Department, he has trained thousands of practitioners in his popular courses at schools and centers in over a dozen countries on six continents. His private practice is based in the Boulder/Denver area, and includes myofascial work, practitioner supervision, and professional coaching with clients from around the world.
Every bodyworker in the therapeutic field should take these workshops. Invaluable.-- Brian S. Ingle, Doctor of Osteopathy
