ANIMO at ICMP Queen's Park

ANIMO is a rising neo-soul band from Austria and the UK, known for their intricate arrangements, rich harmonies, and contemporary sound. Founded by ICMP alumnus Alexander Figl back in 2019, the quartet has established itself as an innovative force in the genre, blending elements of jazz, R&B, and soul into a distinctive musical identity.

In 2025, ANIMO released their second studio album, Superhuman. The record explores themes of societal pressure, perfectionism, and the constant drive for self-improvement—an honest yet powerful reflection on life in the modern world. To celebrate the release and connect with new audiences, the band is touring the UK, including a special stop at ICMP London.

Initiated by Alexander Figl, ANIMO features vocalist Mimi Schmid, guitarist Christoph “Giggo” Kuntner, and drummer Christoph Pfister. Each member is an accomplished musician in Austria’s and the UK’s music scene, but ANIMO is their most personal and collaborative project. It gives them the freedom to push creative boundaries while staying true to the heart of neo-soul.
