Badge Mailing for 2018! 

No more waiting to pick-up your badge!  For the convenience of our attendees, Anime Expo will ship badges to orders within the U.S. & Canada.  Buy your badges early so you can take advantage of badge mailing!  

Badges will be shipped by order to the 1st REGISTRANT'S SHIPPING ADDRESS. For more information, see below. 



Registration Policies 

Our policies have changed, please read them carefully. 


Cancellation Policy

By registering for an Anime Expo badge you agree not to sell, trade, transfer or share your comp code, email confirmation, or badge. In the event that The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) determines that you have violated this policy, SPJA has the right to cancel your badge(s) and keep any money paid by you. Confirmations and/or badges that have been sold or provided by anyone other than SPJA will not be honored by SPJA.

You must wear and display your badge at all times while onsite during Anime Expo. All badges are the property of SPJA and must be relinquished to SPJA upon request. Anime Expo reserves the right to refuse admission, to refuse service and/or to cancel/revoke your badge at Anime Expo’s discretion.

You must register an individual name for each badge and each name must match a valid government issued ID. If SPJA determines that you have purchased more than one badge in your name for any day, SPJA has the right to cancel your duplicate badge(s) and issue you a refund less the processing fee.


Refund & Transfer Policy 

All badges are non-transferable to the following year. Refund requests for Anime Expo 2018 badges must be received within 30 days of the purchase date. Refund requests for badges purchased, including March of 2018 purchases, must be received by March 31, 2018.

Badges purchased after March 31, 2018 are non-refundable, non-transferable to other individuals and non-transferable to the following year.

SPJA reserves the right to change the Refund & Transfer Policy at any time without notification. Anime Expo reserves the right to refuse admission, to refuse service and/or to cancel/revoke your badge at Anime Expo’s discretion.

All refund requests must be sent via email with your full name & order confirmation number to 


Upgrade & Downgrade Policy 

You can upgrade (1-Day to 4-Day) your badge by sending an email to If your badge has already shipped or it is after March 31, 2018, you must go to registration counter to process the upgrade onsite. Certain restrictions may apply.

Downgrades are not permitted.  However, you may request a refund for your badges if it is within 30 days of your purchase date.


Badge Mailing Policy

Anime Expo will only ship 4-Day, 1-Day, Pre-Show, Premier Fan, and Artist Alley badges purchased between July 3rd, 2017 through 12:00 PM PT June 11th, 2018 within United States and Canada. Badge mailing will start in early May 2018. Premier Fan badges will be mailed out early June 2018. Badges will not be re-shipped under any circumstances. There will be no exceptions.

All orders will be mailed out to the 1st registrant’s shipping address. This includes orders with multiple registrants. The last day to change your shipping address is April 25th, 2018.
Shipping fees include shipping, handling, and badge activation. This is required for all badges and is non-refundable.

Onsite Badge Pick-Up Policy

International attendees and attendees who purchased badges after the mailing cut-off must pick up badges onsite.  Each registrant must pick-up his/her own badge. Upon arrival, bring your registration confirmation email and valid government issued photo ID which must match the registrant's name/information in order to pick-up their badge.  You may also use your smartphone to access your registration confirmation via Eventbrite app.

All attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult in order to pick-up a badge. All children 13 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of their time at the event.


Age Restriction Policy 

Attendees age 13 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 for the duration of their time at the event. Attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to pick-up their badge.

Any programming designated 18+ will require attendees to show a valid photo ID in order to gain admittance.

Purchase a badge appropriate for the child's age by the first day of attendance of Anime Expo 2018. 

  • Children ages 0 - 5 are free and are not required to register for a badge.
  • Children ages 6 - 13 must purchase a child badge for $35. 
  • Children ages 14+ must purchase a 4-Day general attendee badge. Please check the website for most current pricing. 


Lost Badge Policy 

Lost badges are subject to a reprint fee. To purchase a badge reprint, head over to the Customer Service counter. 



Premier Fan Badges

If you are purchasing more than one Premier Fan badge, please provide a unique email for each Premier Fan registration to receive updates and information for AX 2018.

Premier Fan badges purchased after May 15, 2018 are not eligible for mailing. These badges must be picked up on site at the Premier Fan Counterr.  Additionally, those who live outside the United States or Canada must pick-up their badge at the Premier Fan Counter.

Can I update my registration information or request to transfer my badge to another person?

What if I lose my badge?

Lost badges are subject to a reprint fee. Prices are TBD and subject to change. To purchase a badge reprint, head over to the Registration Assistance counter in the South Hall Lobby.


What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express on the online registration website. During the convention, we accept credit cards listed above and cash. We do not accept check, money orders, or paypal.

May I come on Day 0 to register onsite or "At-Con", or do I have to use the online web form and pay by credit card?

Onsite or “At-Con” registration hours will be announced at a later date. We suggest purchasing your badge online early for a better rate!


What forms of ID are accepted?

The valid government issued photo ID must be current and contain your date of birth.  Expired ID's will not be accepted. We accept the following forms of identification:

  • Driver's license
  • State ID
  • Passports
  • Military ID
  • Any valid government issued ID that contains your date of birth and photo.


What are my transport/parking options for the event?

Parking is available at the Los Angeles Convention Center. There are also many public parking lots available in the surrounding area. Shuttle service will also be available for participating hotels. Please visit our website for the latest information.

Founded in 1992, the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to popularizing the unique and deep culture that surrounds of Japanese animation.

The SPJA is passionate about Japanese Animation, manga, and their related interests, and works hard to make our projects reflect that passion. Our goal is to make our projects a place that brings together fans, industry, and all other stakeholders to share, celebrate, promote, and educate Japanese animation, manga, and their related interests.
