Here at Animal Hospital, we take pride in a slightly different approach to late-night entertainment. We like to think it keeps our heart and soul in everything we do (or at the very least keeps us on our toes and awake in bed). It is this compulsion which propels us towards a strange evening of musical alchemy, as we welcome Edinburgh's favourite full-time folk-extraordinaire party animals... The Banana Sessions.
The Banana Sessions specialise in a rare style of pop music, infusing some hefty techno and folk influences. An unusual mix, we hear you cry - but we strongly suggest trying EVERYTHING twice, just in case the first time was a mistake.
The Banana Sessions are a live force to be reckoned with, and are renowned for their explosive live performances both on stages and off. The band are now UK festival favourites; and have had their wellington boots firmly wedged into the muddy fields of such staples as Wickerman, Insider, Knockengorroch and Kelburn Garden Party. More recently, they were delighted to be named one of the highlights of Beatherder 2009/10 and in 2011, rocked the socks off Glastonbury.
As recently verified by the discovery of the Higgs-Bison (the so called "fun particle"), there is no force known to man as unstoppable as a party. When two complimentary party vectors join together, the resultant force (a "superparty") has enough power to easily decimate the comparitively weak covalent bonds responsible for fastening together barriers between musical genres.
Or so we've heard.
