Event description

Description

We had 13800 millionaires in Kuala Lumpur and 30K+ in all over Malaysia in 2014. We will, need to assume, that they are still here..

The US Department of State via GlST and our partners in Malaysia would like to host 40 people for a 2 day angel investor mobilisation training program in Kuala Lumpur. In April 2019.

We will be learning from Gwen Edwards who leads Golden Seeds that has invested over 110M in over 150 exciting women-led enterprises, Faz Bashi who is the Chair of Life Science Angels (LSA) and is one of the most active life science angel investor in the US, and Melissa Bradley who is the Managing Partner of 1863 Ventures and Co-Chair at National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NACIE) that advices US Secretary of Commerce in issues related to accelerating innovation and expanding entrepreneurship.

But we are not designing this as just another training program.

We are hoping some of the people we train will graduate to start investing along with us, in the range of MYR 25K - MYR 100K, in high impact science and technology backed startups founded in universities and research labs in Malaysia.

And that will somehow create

“a butterfly effect”

to direct scientific research towards areas where it can have the most impact and accelerate translation of discoveries into solutions that improves people’s health and save lives.

And making a couple of other beautiful dents in the universe.

From Malaysia.

We are doing this in partnership with Cradle Fund, MTDC, TPM and Academy of Sciences Malaysia.

If you would like to join our pre-program webinars open to everyone in February and March and receive an invitation to join the 40 in April 2019, please register and send us a message here. We will get back to you.
