To help programmers learn Android, Geogad will be presenting a series of classes on Android. The classes will take place at Plug & Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale.
Since this is a good bit of material to cover in a relatively short time, all students are required to have downloaded and installed Java, Eclipse and the Android SDK before arriving at the class. (You should be able to run a Hello World program if everything is installed correctly.) Students must already know how to program in the Java programming language on which Android is based.
For all classes but the Introductory Android Class, students are required to either have taken the Introductory Android Class or be familiar with the material covered in this class.
Students should download the class notes, presentations, and samples before the class. These materials are found at http://www.geogad.com/classes under the Resources menu option.
Students can preregister for all 5 Android classes in this series for $300 per student (a $200 discount). Preregistration for a single class will cost $99 per person. Because PlugAndPlay has on-duty security guards, students must register in advance for the class. For more information, contact services at geogad.com or go to http://www.geogad.com/classes.
