The night will end with a mini-fandango, so please come prepared with your jaranas and shoes! Lets celebrate together with this wonderful master musician and friend. See you there! Originally from Alvarado, Veracruz, Andrés is a renowned luthier of son jarocho instruments, a musician and singer and a specialist in playing the percussive instruments of the son jarocho. He has directed his own professional group (Quemayama) and heads his Taller Cascabel (a school). Andrés has been a member of the internationally renowned son jarocho groups “Chuchumbé” and “Quemayama”, both groups of the highest caliber and comprised of some of the most well known musicians of the son jarocho. Both groups have recorded several CDs and have toured throughout Mexico, in the US, Europe and Latin America. Over the last year, Andrés has toured in Colombia with “Piano Xarocho“, as well as been a featured performer with his most recent project with “Sistema Bomb”. In addition to performing and touring, Andrés has dedicated much time to teaching and sharing son jarocho all over the world! This continues to be his passion as he continues to embark on new projects in Mexico and internationally. Andrés has received several awards at the national level for his work as a luthier. His instruments are works of art, each uniquely elaborated by hand.
