September is National Whole Grains month and we are excited to take a look at some of the ancient whole grains! We will be making several recipes, discussing the health benefits of whole grains, and sampling all of the dishes. Participants will leave with copies of all of the recipes from the night and someone will leave with a $25 Price Cutter gift card. Seating is limited so register now!
Lemon Dill Bulgur Salad with chickpeas, cucumber, and feta cheese – This salad is a delightful start to any meal. Featuring Bulgur, it’s sure to show you grains can go anywhere.
Quinoa Cheese Bread Sticks – These “bread” sticks are thin and crispy around the edges. This recipe can also double as a gluten-free pizza crust!
Grilled Vegetables with Whole Wheat Couscous and Lemon-Butter Chicken – This dish is sure to make it to your recipe box. A great weeknight dinner! Don’t love couscous? We’ll talk about other grains that you could sub in this great recipe!
Multigrain Mushroom Pilaf – This dish combines wheat berries, barley, and wild rice with porcini mushrooms in a pilaf that has us ready for fall!
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Teff Cookies – These cookies are quick and easy treat for the kids. Simple to make and easy to store, this is a new favorite from the Whole Grains Council.
