According to the National Academy of Sciences, rice originates from a single domestication between 8,500-13,500 years ago in the Pearl Valley region of China. With over 40,000 different species of rice worldwide, it’s no doubt a staple food for over half the world’s population and is the second most produced crop in the world. Join Chef Lenning as he gives you more insight on this little kernel while exploring some non-traditional methods of preparation for our more exotic species.
