Description

REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT CLOSED ON OCTOBER 15. However, if you would like to be added to the waiting list in the event that someone cancels and a space becomes available, please email Melinda Johnson at mjohnson@ancienfaith.com. Thank you!

The Ancient Faith Women's Retreat seeks to create a peaceful, loving, and reflective gathering of women who have come to learn, worship, make friends, and rest at the entrance into the holy Nativity season.

Retreat Leaders: We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Jeannie Constantinou, Dr. Roxanne Louh, Molly Maddex Sabourin, and Mother Christophora of Holy Transfiguration Monastery as our retreat leaders. A full schedule of sessions and activities will be posted shortly.

Who's Invited: The Ancient Faith Women's Retreat is a pan-Orthodox event for women in every stage of life, from college-age on up. Nursing babies are welcome. If you are not Orthodox, you are still very welcome to attend. This is an openly Orthodox event, but if you're comfortable with us, we're comfortable with you.

Roommates: There are three kinds of tickets - one person in one room, two people in one room, and three people in one room. Please note that Ancient Faith is NOT able to find you a roommate. (Please email Melinda Johnson at mjohnson@ancientfaith.com if you'd like to be added to a private Facebook group for people looking for roommates or carpools.) You are responsible for finding your roommate and arranging to purchase your ticket together. The price listed is the total price for the room. It should be divided in half for two roommates and in thirds for three roommates.

Food: This retreat falls at the start of the Nativity Fast (new calendar). Chef Tim at Antiochian Village will provide a delicious Lenten menu for us. If you are on a medically prescribed diet, please see below under
Special Ticket Options. If you have other questions about food, feel free to contact Melinda Johnson at mjohnson@ancientfaith.com.

Special Ticket Options: This year, we're offering a separate ticketing structure for those who require a gluten-free/keto menu! There are three types of tickets for this option, as for regular ticketing, and the same roommate policy applies. If you have one roommate using the special diet ticket and one roommate using the regular ticket, see the "One of Each" ticket option. For other questions, please contact Melinda at mjohnson@ancientfaith.com.

Driving: There is plenty of free parking at Antiochian Village, so if you're within reach, this is a great way to come.

Airports: If you are flying in, your best bet is probably Pittsburgh International Airport. There is a closer, smaller airport in Latrobe, but the only carrier is Spirit. There are also Amtrak and Greyhound stations in Latrobe, which is 20 minutes from AV.

Airport Transportation: Antiochian Village is 90 minutes from Pittsburgh and 20 minutes from Latrobe. Group airport transportation has been arranged from Pittsburgh International Airport to Antiochian Village on Thursday, and returning to the airport on Sunday. The vans on Thursday will leave the airport at 2 PM and 5 PM respectively. The returning vans will leave Antiochian Village at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM respectively. Please consider the shuttle times when you book your flights. Airport transportation is a separate cost, not included in your retreat ticket; it is $95 per person round trip if you are part of a group of 5 or more, so you must book directly with Allison Taylor at Antiochian Villlage. Her email is events@antiochianvillage.org, or you can reach her by telephone at (724) 238-3677. The round-trip cost from and to Latrobe Airport is $40 per person and can be booked at any time - it is not necessary to be part of a group. This should also be booked directly with Allison Taylor at Antiochian Village.

What to Wear: This retreat is a come-as-you-are party! Please feel free to wear comfortable clothes. The weather will be cold, so dress accordingly, especially if you're someone who likes to go out for a walk during her free time. We will be celebrating Divine Liturgy together on Sunday morning, so please bring "church clothes" for that. There will be some planned outdoor activities, weather permitting, so please bring jeans and good walking shoes if you'd like to participate.

Questions: Please don't hesitate to contact Melinda Johnson at mjohnson@ancientfaith.com with any questions.

We are looking forward very much to spending time with you in November!
