Ancestors in Training: New Traditions

To be an Ancestor in Training is to embody the elevated ancestor we want to be in the present moment.

The New Traditions experience is a generative and interactive space. The rituals and gatherings that we're accustomed to are continuing to change, but we have an opportunity to create new ones now.

Join us as explore this concept with a healing through writing experience that is rooted in intimate excavation of our own legacies, abundant possibilities, and invocations of the types of ancestors we aspire to be.

Collaborators will receive access to the syllabus of the same name so that the roots of the conversations grown during the session can travel to their communities.

Ancestors in Training is a living project and lived experience that centers sacred traditions, new technologies, and intergenerational healing.

Evolving with the times, AIT as a praxis examines how to apply the lessons of the past as a means to shape a better present and future for those that come after us. Through inquiry-based creative processes, critical race and media theories, and archival memory - the educational project allows all those who enter to leave with a better sense of self and how they relate to the world.
