Event description

Description

In our February 2019 class, Sequencing the Inner Harbor, we will prepare DNA for next-generation sequencing. We’ll send this DNA to a university facility where they will produce the DNA sequence data for all of the plankton living in the Inner Harbor. Then, they will return the data to us for analysis. Signup for Sequencing the Harbor at: https://sequencingtheharbor.eventbrite.com

In this class, Anayzing the Harbor, scientists from IMET will lead us through the bioinformatics analysis of this wealth of data. Learn how to perform bioinformatic analysis of metagenomics data where we’ll take this huge amount of data and compare it to databases to see which species are present. This is a hands-on workshop with lots of support for beginners.

This is a 3-day class. Please sign up only for March 30th, but be prepared to attend all 3 days!

Scholarships are available for all courses: Signup at https://goo.gl/forms/Rj2eVApZR4N75bnh2
