Event description

Description

Incorporated as Uniontown in 1854, what is now called Anacostia is one of the most historic neighborhoods in Washington, D.C. From vibrant murals to historic homes (not to mention abolitionist Frederick Douglass' home), Anacostia offers much to the DC creative and business scene.

Join resident Austin Graff, photographer Angela Pan, and resident/historian John Johnson for a photo walk of Anacostia. Austin will share the history of Anacostia starting at the Anacostia Arts Center at 10am. The group will wander through historic Anacostia to the Frederick Douglass House on Cedar Hill offering one of the best views of the city. Along the way, Angela will share her tips of capturing the perfect photo of our city and its buildings.

This event is free and includes a free Anacostia points of interest guide curated by Austin Graff.

Hope to see you all there!

Photo walk hash tags are #igdc and #snapdc
