Event description

Description

Julissa Arce will share her story about what it was like “climbing the corporate ladder” as both a Latina and an undocumented immigrant. She had seemingly achieved the American Dream – yet she was not part of what was defined as American. This, as well as the plight of the millions of others who are undocumented and living in the U.S., compelled to her to leave Wall Street and pursue a career as an immigration rights advocate. Julissa will talk about her work in immigration and give an overview of current policies and actions on immigration nationally.

Event is FREE and OPEN to the public but we encourage you to RSVP to reserve your seat.

Co-organized by COCC Multicultural Activities and Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Program. Sponsored by Deschutes Cultural Coalition, Oregon Humanities, Oregon Community Foundation, Brooks Resources, Associated Students of COCC, OSU-Cascades Student Fee Commitee, and The Old Mill District.
