This session will provide an overview of best practices and the most commonly prescribed medications for Opioid Use Disorder

About this event

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is used to help people reduce or quit their use of opiates, such as pain relievers, and is carefully regulated. Qualified physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are required to acquire a waiver and maintain certifications to legally dispense or prescribe opioid dependency medications. Rural areas desperately need more providers to offer this important treatment in their practice.

The hour and a half virtual training will also cover the steps in the application process providers can take to become MAT waivered.
