Event Details

In his ELI Talk from November 2012, Sam Glassenberg explores how by focusing on consumer needs and producing products like JDate, we can create successful for-profit models that have greater reach and, as an unintended consequence, change the direction of other challenges of the Jewish community.

In a series of articles on eJewishPhilanthropy in response to his talk, many new ideas, challenges and opportunities have come to the surface.

Join us for this online conversation where we'll hear more about Sam's ideas, and you'll have an opportunity to ask him your OWN questions.

The conversation will be held on March 20th, from 12-1 pm EST, and will be moderated by fellow ELI talks presenter Lisa Colton. Viewers will be able to watch Lisa & Sam through livestream video.

Those who are interested will receive more details about how to watch and participate in this unique event via e-mail after registering.

Make sure you watch Sam's talk prior to tuning in:

Sam Glassenberg:

Sam has spent his career managing teams and companies at the cutting edge of the video games industry.

He began his career creating games at LucasFilm, and subsequently moved on to Microsoft – where he managed a team pushing the visual limits of video games across the industry.

A strong advocate of building a video games industry in Israel, Sam left Microsoft in 2008 to join Israel-based game studio Funtactix as CEO.

With Sam at the helm, Funtactix has earned Israel a reputation in Hollywood: the company is now the premiere publisher of social and mobile games based on box office films (including Mission:Impossible and The Hunger Games).

Lisa Colton:

Lisa Colton is the Chief Learning Officer at See3 Communications, and is passionate about helping nonprofit organizations and their leaders embrace the tools and strategy that will help them succeed in our networked world.

Lisa was the founder and president of Darim Online, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Jewish organizations thrive in the digital age, which merged with See3 in 2012. Lisa's work experience combines nonprofit management, digital media, community building, education and training.

We can't wait to see you there!
