Presenter: Dr. Lenard Lantz

What are the options for treating severe depression when medications fail? Dr. Len Lantz will provide a comprehensive overview of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) – a safe and effective therapy for treatment-resistant depression – and he will describe promising research on the application of TMS for other conditions including anxiety disorders, substance use disorders and other conditions.

Cost:

Signing up is free. However, the nominal cost for attending is $10. Please provide this payment when you arrive at the training. Proceeds will go to presenters and to support future Consilience Institute community events. Please sign up ASAP as seats are limited and being filled.

Presenter Bio:

Dr. Len Lantz originates from South Dakota (fourth generation). He received his undergraduate degree in cell biology and genetics from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He received his medical doctorate from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Dr. Lantz performed his psychiatry residency and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison.

In 2005, Dr. Lantz moved to Montana to provide care to patients in southwestern parts of the state for AWARE, where he also served as medical director from 2008-2015. Since April 2015, Dr. Lantz has served patients in Helena in his private practice, Big Sky Psychiatry, along with his wife, Dr. Krista David.

Dr. Lantz has served in many state and national leadership and educational roles. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of Washington School of Medicine and WWAMI program. He is a Distinguished Fellow both in the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Lantz founded and hosts (along with NAMI Montana) the Montana Conference on Suicide Prevention, he chaired the Montana Suicide Mortality Review Team, and he founded and hosts the Montana Psychiatry Conference.
