Event description

Description

The use of puppets within theatre is as popular as ever. Audiences love them and it is a very effective way of telling the story.

As an actor, director or theatre maker:

How do you get experience of what makes good puppetry?

How do you learn to do this without doing a puppetry job?

If you've missed out on a job or audition because of lack of puppetry experience - come along. This workshop is a perfect introduction for those who are looking to experience some hands on puppetry and it's a skill you can take into your own devised work in the future too.

Over the 2.5 hours, the group will look at all the different skills involved in operating a puppet, and will experiment in bunraku puppetry, like in the shows War Horse, The Lorax and Running Wild.

PLEASE NOTE - there are only limited spaces available! Joseph's last workshop at the Jerwood in 2015 sold out in a few days.
