Event description

Description

Join this trauma-informed training to increase knowledge of Experiential Play Therapy for children and therapist’s role and responses presented by Wilder's Community Mental Health and Wellness team.

Experiential Play Therapy was developed by Byron and Carol Norton in an effort to better align and understand children’s play therapy. It is a non-directive play therapy which often gets misunderstood as an intervention that does not need much training, and does not have specified stages and therapist responses.

On the contrary, Experiential Play Therapy requires knowledge of the child’s stage in the therapy, the meaning in their play, the child’s physical actions in the play and the therapists’ role, responses and responsibilities. This training is designed to outline, experience and practice EPT therapeutic methods.
