About this event
Hospice has been part of the medical system in the US since the mid 1970s, yet there is still so much misinformation and misunderstanding about palliative and hospice care and its role in providing the best possible support at end of life.
Join us for this free online workshop to debunk the myths about palliative and hospice care and have your questions answered. You will learn what palliative and hospice care are, why you might want palliative or hospice care for yourself or a loved one, when to start thinking about moving to palliative and hospice care, and how to request hospice care if you no longer want aggressive treatments and tests in the hospital. You will also learn how to cover the costs of hospice care, which can often be obtained for free through your contributions to Medicare.
The class will be taught by our Chief Care Integration Officer Anthony Lupian and Medical Social Worker Tess Murphy. There will be time allowed for questions and answers and resources provided, so you will walk away better informed on this compassionate choice for end-of-life care.
