About this Event

An Intimate Conversation with Honorary Guest Speaker ~ Dr. Regina Jennings

In celebration of Black History month ~ Join us for an intimate chat, up-close with Dr. Regina Jennings, one of the earliest sisters in the East Oakland Chapter of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense. In 1968, she took a late plane from home, Philadelphia as a teenager to join the Black Movement under the leadership of Bobby Seale and Huey Newton.

Regina Jennings is a professor of African/African American Studies, who living inside of Bobby Seale and Huey Newton’s vision, started Black Studies at a college as the only Black female faculty member. She’s written at least twenty-five academic articles and has launched her fourth book, a literary tribute to the brave founders and members of the Black Panther organization.

Get ready to listen to her ‘spoken-word’ poetry session & learn the truth..from the inside, about the Black Panther Party for Self Defense through ancestral memory, morphogenetic fields to Hip-Hop.
