What We Do

Our mission is to support the Federal Reserve System's economic growth objectives by promoting fair, impartial, and efficient access to credit and financial services.

In pursuit of our mission, we offer information on public-private partnerships, resources, and innovative models that foster access to credit and investment in the low- and moderate- income communities of the Ninth Federal Reserve District. Our means to that end include producing publications, sponsoring informative events, and building productive relationships with other organizations through outreach and technical assistance.

Where We Work

Our team serves the Ninth Federal Reserve District, which comprises Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, and 26 counties in northwestern Wisconsin. The district covers 409,291 square miles and stretches 1,800 miles from end to end. It is home to about 8.8 million people who live in communities of many different sizes and descriptions, including major metropolitan areas, midsized cities, rural towns, and American Indian reservations.

Our offices are located in downtown Minneapolis and Helena, Montana.

Events

We sponsor forums, conferences, and training sessions that spotlight major trends, and issues in the community development field. Our events draw audiences that provide diverse perspectives from the public, private, and nonprofit spheres.
