Event Details

Universities in turmoil. "Fake" news. Ubiquitous social media inanity.

Is it us, or do our once-revered institutions seem to be, well...melting down?

If you're inclined to agree, join us on Sunday, October 15th, for a sure-to-be riveting chat with David Clemensprofessor of English and chair of the Great Books Program at Monterey Peninsula College

Professor Clemens will offer an eyewitness account of the massive collision at the intersection of culture, education, history, journalism, and education.

Drawing on sociology, psychology, political theory, personal experience, technology, and art, Clemens will offer his explanation for the bedlam now coursing through once respected institutions of news, government, and colleges, public and private.

Check out David's full bio here and his CV here.

This event is free.

Doors open at 4, David will commence speaking around 4:15, with a Q&A afterward. Drinks and refreshments will be served.

See you on October 15th for what will be a provocative, stimulating, and dare we say it, occasionally discomforting conversation!
