An experience of African coffee and pairing wines at hume

Overview

Join us for a unique journey through the flavors of African coffee in partnership with Crosby Coffee, Omwani and Vintage Roots.

An experience of African coffee, brought to life by James Wilkinson (Omwani) x Crosby Coffee x hume.

James' life working in the Rwenzori hills in Uganda birthed a passion to increase the exposure of African coffee to the market and to celebrate the diverse native plants/trees and the continent has to offer.

Bringing along shining examples of various growing regions, James will guide us through a descriptive, personal tasting experience, with an open floor for questions throughout.

With coffee brewing expertise and assistance supplied by our proud partners at Crosby Coffee, expect to share the room with more bright coffee minds, and to taste the samples at their meticulously-brewed best.

The coffee will be presented in 'Cupping' format; the most widely used brewing method to taste multiple coffees side-by-side in the industry. You'll be walked through the process, why it works, how it works, and how to join in.

The brewing process is multi-sensory and will all take place in-the-room, providing insight and theatre alongside the scents/flavours of the finished cups.

All are welcome and curiosity is encouraged, as the evening promises to be perfect for all coffee enthusiasts, from industry veterans to home-enjoyers.

Guest will also be treated to a sample of pairing wines, carefully selected by our organic wine supplier, Vintage Roots.

We are proud to hosting this event in support of Feeding Liverpool, with 50% of the ticket price going towards their work.

Feeding Liverpool is the city of Liverpool’s food alliance, connecting and equipping people and organisations to work towards good food for all.

This winter, thousands of families in Liverpool will face the cold without enough good food. Rising costs mean that many households will rely on foodbanks, where standard parcels often lack the fresh food needed for a healthy diet.

The Winter Boost Project will change this.

We are raising funds to help supply 6 emergency food providers in Liverpool with good quality, fresh produce to include in their foodbank parcels.
