Event description

Description

Trudy Ludwig is a nationally acclaimed speaker and an award-winning author who specializes in writing children's books that help kids connect and engage with their peers in kind, caring ways. She has received high praise from leading educators, experts, organizations, and parents for her passion and compassion in addressing friendship, bullying, and cyberbullying issues. Trudy wrote her first book, My Secret Bully, after her own daughter was bullied by some friends. Since then, she has become a sought-after speaker, presenting at schools and conferences both in the US and overseas, educating students, parents, and teachers on relational aggression.

Her books have received numerous awards and citations, and Project Brave is proud to bring An Evening with Trudy Ludwig to parents, educators, and other members of the community free of charge.

You’re Invited to Trudy’s Presentation, “Understanding Our Kids’ Online & Offline Social World: Friendships, Cliques & Power Plays”

Intentional exclusion, gossip, the silent treatment, teasing, and the spreading of rumors are often dismissed as normal rites of passage, but research shows these behaviors are a form of emotional bullying that are as harmful as physical bullying, with long-term negative effects. Learn more about what bullying is and isn’t, relational aggression (the use of relationships to manipulate and hurt others), the nature of boys’ and girls’ friendships, cyberbullying, as well as tips, tools, and resources to help you empower children—from pre-school to young adult—to be kinder and more inclusive in their online and offline social world.

Please note, this presentation is designed for adult engagement.
