An evening with the bats of Straw's Bridge and surrounding areas

Yes! We provide this event for free, but we do ask for donations on the night so that we can make a donation to the Derbyshire Bat Group to thank them for their time given to host the walk. This is usually done at the end of the walk.

The walk may take require use of steps and/or rough ground, so may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Absolutely! Children love to hear the "clicks" of the bats on the bat detectors, and should even be able to spot the bats flying over their heads! We do ask that for safety reasons, that for every two children, there is at least one responsible adult present.

As with anything nature related, we cannot guarantee the attendance of bats to our walks. However, if the weather is good, we are likely to hear and see them :)

No! The Derbyshire Bat Group have a limited number of bat detectors that can be lent to people. We do ask that you please return them after use so that others can enjoy listening to bats. If you have your own bat detector, please feel free to bring it with you!

Yes - for safety, and to ensure we have enough bat detectors for everyone we need to limit numbers. We aim to have a bat detecter per group/one detector for 2-3 people.

Yes! Straw's Bridge has a small amount of parking available to visitors
