Event description

Description

City of Durham Young Labour is proud to present a talk and Q&A with the journalist, author and political activist, Steve Howell.

Steve was at the centre of Labour's 2017 general election campaign and worked as deputy director of strategy and communications for the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. Steve is also the author of Game Changer: The Inside Story of Labour's 2017 General Election Campaign. That campaign and the election result transformed British politics, depriving prime minister Theresa May of her majority and dramatically altering the political landscape.

The 2017 campaign has rich lessons for today's political situation, given that we might be faced with another general election at any moment with the prime minister's Brexit plans in chaos. As well as giving his insider's account of the 2017 general election campaign, Steve will also talk about current political events and what Labour activists and supporters need to do to ensure a Jeremy Corbyn-led Labour government at the earliest opportunity.

Few people are better placed to talk abour Labour's historic 2017 election campaign and the lessons for today than Steve Howell. Anyone with an interest in Labour politics should register for this event without delay!

Registration is free for this event, but we will be requesting a donation of £4 on the door to cover our costs.
