Description

Join us for An Evening With Shirley Ann Jackson at Howard University!

On April 25, 2019, the National Science and Technology Medals Foundation will host an intimate evening of conversation and discovery with Shirley Ann Jackson, "perhaps the ultimate role model for women in science" according to TIME Magazine. Dr. Jackson is the President of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the first African-American woman to receive a doctorate from MIT, and a 2014 National Medal of Science Laureate. The evening's conversation will be led by Dr. Bruce Jones, the Vice President of Research at Howard University. Dr. Jones leads the re-established Office of Research on campus where he oversees the development of a diverse, robust research portfolio.

The event will be free and open to the public with priority given to Howard University students and faculty.

  • A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. Students of local universities should contact the NSTMF for more information.
