Event Details

The Leadership Jackson Alumni Association is proud to present a Stewards of Children® evening featuring former Miss America and incest survivor Marilyn Van Derbur. This nationally acclaimed learning opportunity gives our community the chance to gain knowledge and confidence to protect our children. Marilyn will share her story to empower others to help prevent child abuse.

Education is key to preventing child sexual abuse. The Darkness to Light Stewards of Children program empowers adults through awareness and educational programs to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Who Should Attend - This evening with Marilyn is for any responsible adult who cares about the protection of children - parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, mentors, coaches, scout leaders and others who work with children, church leaders and staff, elected officials and community leaders, law enforcement, day care workers, child-serving professionals and more.

Marilyn will also be signing her book, Miss America By Day: Lessons Learned from Ultmate Betrayals and Unconditional Love (you can purchase the book at the event), and will be available for photographs following.

Come as you are... come after work.... you can even come after the gym.

What’s The Cost - There’s no cost to attend... and dinner will be provided.
