Event description

Description

The 90-minute concert program is uniquely ambitious and will feature a dynamic blend of riveting, yet seldom performed Baroque music from the likes of Domenico Scarlatti, Johann Adolph Hasse, Jean-Baptist Lully, Unico W.R. van Wassenaer, Giuseppe Tartini, the interpreted musical themes of Arcangelo Corelli by Sergei Rachmaninoff, and new Baroque music from our studio album, A Neo-Baroque Introduction, written by a young, local, living composer named Mark Moya.

KONTRAPUNKTUS is a classical neo-Baroque orchestra led by conductor, Edward Hong. Joining him are violinists Eduardo Rios, Madeleine Vaillancourt, Hannah Ji, Kako Miura, violist Tanner Menees, cellist Vardan Gasparyan, bassist Marlon Martinez, among others. Together they represent a young, remarkable array of extraordinary talent from all corners of the globe.

This concert is proudly presented by the City of Culver City Cultural Affairs Commission.
