An Evening with Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives at American Prophet

This one-night-only fundraising event will be a unique opportunity to support Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives (FDFI) and attend a preview performance of American Prophet: Frederick Douglass In His Own Words with Douglass family members, including great-great-granddaughter Nettie Washington Douglass and great-great-great-grandson Kenneth B. Morris, Jr. We’ll also be joined by the two creative visionaries who have brought this stirring musical experience to the stage: American Prophet co-creator and director Charles Randolph-Wright (also an FDFI board member) and co-creator and musical director, Grammy winner Marcus Hummon, along with VIPs from Washington and beyond, members of the FDFI board, and other special guests.

The evening will begin at 6:00 PM at a VIP reception on the covered Rooftop Terrace for conversation, beer and wine, and hors d'oeuvres. We’ll then move one floor down to the beautiful Kreeger Theater in time to experience the 8:00 PM performance of the powerful and poignant American Prophet.

Each ticket holder will receive a special event gift bag with items including a limited edition of FDFI’s bicentennial hardcover edition of Frederick Douglass’s Narrative signed by Douglass descendants, a signed American Prophet poster, special FDFI items, and a friends and family discount code to purchase tickets to future American Prophet performances.
