Description

Stories Bookshop + Storytelling Lab is thrilled to partner with the Brooklyn Public Library for an incredible evening for Brooklyn families with Chelsea Clinton, to celebrate the publication of her new picture book, She Persisted Around the World: 13 Women Who Changed History. Chelsea Clinton will be reading and in conversation with illustrator Alexandra Boiger, along with their editor, Jill Santopolo. This is an all-ages event, and both Chelsea Clinton and Alexandra Boiger will be signing their books.

She Persisted Around the World: 13 Women Who Changed History is a companion to Chelsea Clinton and Alexandra Boiger’s #1 New York Times bestselling picture book, She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World. She Persisted Around the World celebrates 13 women from around the world who have used their voices and determination to create change and shape history. Women in the book include Marie Curie, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, Viola Desmond, Sissi Lima do Amor, Leymah Gbowee, Caroline Herschel, Wangari Maathai, Aisha Rateb, J.K. Rowling, Kate Sheppard, Yuan Yuan Tan, Mary Verghese, and Malala Yousafzai.

Chelsea Clinton is the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling picture book She Persisted: 13 American Women Who Changed the World, which was praised in a starred review by Publishers Weekly as a “lovely, moving work of children's literature [and a] polished introduction to a diverse and accomplished group of women." She is also the author of the New York Times bestselling It’s Your World: Get Informed, Get Inspired & Get Going! and, with Devi Sridhar, Governing Global Health: Who Runs the World and Why? Chelsea Clinton is the Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation, where she works on many initiatives including those that help to empower the next generation of leaders.
