Event description
Located on the second floor of the Museum, the Clive Davis Theater is an intimate, state-of-the-art 200-seat theater.

About this Event

To celebrate nearly 60 years in the entertainment industry, please join us in welcoming the iconic Bob Newhart to the Clive Davis Theater for an intimate discussion on his legendary career, moderated by GRAMMY Museum Artistic Director Scott Goldman. Bob Newhart was almost 30 years old and working as an accountant in Chicago, when he signed his first contract with Warner Bros. in 1959 and struck comic gold with his first comedy album. Since then, his career as an entertainer has spanned almost 60 years and has included multiple television series, fourteen feature films, and millions of albums sold worldwide. He is the recipient of many honors, including the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, presented by the Kennedy Center, and he has been inducted into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Hall of Fame. Bob’s The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart became the first comedy album to go to #1 on the charts. Seven more albums followed, each extremely successful multi-platinum projects, cumulatively earning him three GRAMMY® Awards. His famous television series, The Bob Newhart Show, received TV Land’s Icon Award, while in 2013, Bob won his first Emmy® for recurring appearances on the hit show Big Bang Theory.
