An evening with Bishop Gene Robinson - First openly gay bishop
Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM (EDT)
New Haven, CT
Since Bishop Robinson's consecration in 2003, he has become one of the most visible, eloquent and respected advocates for LGBT equality nationally and internationally, despite intense opposition from people inside and outside the worldwide Anglican Communion, which continues to oppose his ordination because he is openly gay.
The evening will begin with a feature-length documentary on Bishop Robinson’s ministry, Love Free or Die; which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012. The documentary will be followed by hors d'oeuvres from Zinc Restaurant and a silent auction.
You will then have an opportunity to hear Bishop Robinson personally tell his story about his past, present, and future ministry, with a time for questions and answers.
The evening will conclude with a signing of his most recent book, God Believes in Love: Straight Talk About Gay Marriage.
