Event description
Join us for an evening of stories driven by the heart celebrating the re-launch of the Dial Press!

About this Event

Join us Thursday, January 23rd at The New School’s Tishman Auditorium in NYC for an evening of stories driven by the heart to celebrate the relaunch of The Dial Press.

Our evening will kick off with a performance by poet Olivia Gatwood, author of LIFE OF THE PARTY, followed by a talk on reading and recovering from trauma by DEAR EDWARD author Ann Napolitano. Dial Press Deputy Publisher Avideh Bashirrad will moderate a panel on personal transformation and rituals for self-care with Tara Schuster (BUY YOURSELF THE F*CKING LILIES), Maya Shanbhag Lang (WHAT WE CARRY), Holly Whitaker (QUIT LIKE A WOMAN), and Marissa Mullen (THAT CHEESE PLATE WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE). Celebrated academic, activist, and writer Rachel Cargle (I DON’T WANT YOUR LOVE AND LIGHT) will speak about publishing, allyship, and intersectional feminism. And the evening will conclude with a conversation between Dial Press Editorial Director Whitney Frick and author and activist Glennon Doyle (UNTAMED) about their longtime editorial partnership, Doyle’s writing process, and the joy and power we discover when we stop trying to please others and learn to trust ourselves.

Tickets include a gift bag stocked with Luna Bars, a pre-order of UNTAMED by Glennon Doyle (fulfilled and sent directly to you from The Strand bookstore), and a copy of DEAR EDWARD by Ann Napolitano.

We hope you'll join us!
