Vintage noun: 1. denoting something of high quality, especially something from the past or characteristic of the best period of a person's work.
2. An ensemble of highly experienced musicians from the Fraser Valley.

Members of Vintage include Mel Bowker (piano), Paul Horban (bass guitar), Larry Galloway (tenor saxophone) and Cathy Merkel (lead singer) who serve up well-aged music with a light jazz flavour and the subtle notes of old time gospel.

Since 2000, Mennonite Jazz Committee (MJC) has been entertaining audiences throughout the Lower Mainland with their exciting arrangements of jazz standards, hymn tunes and originals. Their style is best described as energetic, swinging and interactive.

MJC has two recordings to date. Unexpected (2004) features beloved jazz standards and an original composition. Their Dawn of Grace (2007) recording, a collection of modern arrangements of timeless Christmas carols, received airplay on CBC Radio and a Covenant Award nomination for Seasonal Album of the Year in 2008.

Nelson Boschman (piano), Brian Thiessen (guitar), Steve Klassen (trumpet), Mark Bender (double bass) and Kenton Wiens (drums).
