“An Evening of Enchantment,” is a benefit concert featuring Ms. Bertha Hightower-Smith, flutist. The concert will include guest appearancesby Rev. Richard Allen Farmer, minister,Crossroads Presbyterian Church and Tony Hightower, jazz vocalist.
This is a Benefit Concert to raise funds to establish a $500,000 Scholarship Endowment Fund. Your tax-deductible gift in any amount can be made on our website - www.ssspfoundation.org. Tickets for this event are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 at the door.
Ms. Bertha Hightower-Smith always shares her God-given musical gifts, whether it is locally, nationally or abroad. Along with her many performances are opening roles in various conferences which includes the Church Music Workshop of Jackson, Mississippi where she has opened for gospel greats such as Richard Smallwood, Darryl Coley and others. Being a flutist with the Metropolitan Atlanta Community Band and a flutist for communion worship at her home church are two of her greatest joys in music performance.
Rev. Richard Allen Farmer is a professionally-trained concert pianist. Currently serving a pastor of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Stone Mountain, he has given concerts in countries throughout the world.
Mr.Tony Hightower, son of prominent jazz vocalist Theresa Hightower, has inherent musical expertise that spans genres allowing him opportunities to create with such talents as Lionel Richie, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Outkast, Dottie Peoples, Charlies Wilson and a roster of other artists and producers. His most recent album, The New Standard, reflects the sounds of big band and vocal jazz.
