Africa is at a tipping point. There's an entire generation eager to bootstrap themselves and others out of poverty, to reach self-sufficiency. They’re starting an entrepreneurial revolution, and they need role models.
75% of the ticket sales will support our December Boot-camp for 50 young Kenyan and Sudanese entrepreneurs, allowing them to sit down with experienced role models and refine their business ideas—a venue they would otherwise not have had.
New Scholars was founded by Garang Akau, a “Lost Boy of Sudan” who was in the documentary and the only Lost Boy to graduate from Stanford University, and Darius Golkar, an entrepreneur since age 13 that has started three companies—and sold one—before the age of 25.
Our goal is to be the catalyst that allows young people's entrepreneurial energy to result in measurable economic empowerment and opportunities for African youth.
