Event description

Description

Ibsen’s play is set in a small coastal town in Norway around 1900. Dr. Thomas Stockman makes a discovery that could threaten the town’s economy. This discovery exposes the town’s people’s beliefs in power, money and morality that are at odds with Dr. Stockman’s. An Enemy of the People explores the idea of how far we are willing to go (individual and as a community) to stand up for our beliefs when faced with unlikeable facts/truths. The play’s topic and issues feel very relevant to those of Flint, Michigan, and today’s political undercurrent.

Performed by students in the Theatre Arts Department in the Theresa Lang Theatre at the College, with direction by Antonio Suarez.
