Spend an afternoon with the Marquis de Lafayette as he recalls his experiences in America during the Revolution and on his return in 1824. In May 1781, Lafayette checked the movements of Cornwallis and the British troops as they were moving through Hanover, just days before Jack Jouett’s ride to warn Thomas Jefferson of the raid on Monticello.

Lafayette is portrayed by the talented actor, Mark Schneider, who combines history with theater and is well-known for his entertaining and informative interpretations of historic characters at Colonial Williamsburg and on the international stage.

The event is free to the public and will take place in the theater at historic Hanover Tavern where Lafayette once stayed.
