The FRIENDS of the James E. Shepard Memorial Library are delighted to host an event entitled An Afternoon of Conversation with Dean Jon Gant and Dr. Theodosia T. Shields, Enhancing the Intellectual Capital and the Study of Knowledge for the 21st Century Learner: Meeting them at the Point of Need.
The event will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 3:30 PM in the James E. Shepard Memorial Library (Shepard Library) on the campus of North Carolina Central University (NCCU). We are excited to provide the Durham community with an opportunity to engage the newly appointed Dean of the School Library and Information Sciences (SLIS) and learn about the enhancements, services, and activities offered at Shepard Library from the Director of Library Services.
The event is free and open to the public.
When & Where
FRIENDS of the James E. Shepard Memorial Library
FRIENDS of the James E. Shepard Memorial Library are advocates for advancing the library. As varied as the books and technology within the library, FRIENDS are students, teachers, physicians, homemakers, retirees, business leaders, professors, bankers, lawyers, and community volunteers. In 1991, ardent supporters from the Durham community and North Carolina Central University campus organized a to help perpetuate resources, promote interest and broaden the awareness of our Library and its services. FRIENDS come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common — a deep appreciation of our library's importance to North Carolina Central University and the community.
