Complete registration for tickets on this page to reserve your spot and ensure we plan Moose's Tooth Pizza and seating accordingly. Registration required for CEU certificate. Register by 10 PM Tuesday, April 17 to receive your CEU certificate during the April 22, 2018 seminar! For AMTA Members wanting to attend the Mystery of Pain seminar for free, you must select the full day ticket and attend the morning Annual Meeting. Your name will be on a list we check at the door. If anyone is only attending the Annual Meeting portion of our day from 10 AM to Noon, no ticket is required.


Highlights Include:

  • Meet Massage Therapy Foundation president Douglas Nelson! During the Annual Meeting portion of the day from 10 AM to Noon, hear Douglas speak on developing the relationship of massage therapists with other medical professionals. Douglas travels to us from Illinois

  • Moose’s Tooth pizza will be provided during our lunch social! Free for AMTA members, $12 for non-members or additional guests. RSVP by completing registration on this page

  • Participate in the elections of AMTA Alaska Chapter board positions up for re-election. Email sent to AMTA members on 3-28-18 contains nomination and elections information

  • During our annual meeting portion of the day from 9:30 AM to Noon, we will be having drawings! Only for AMTA members

9:30 to 10 AM - Meet-and-Greet with AMTA Alaska chapter board members.

10 AM to Noon - Annual Meeting with elections of Alaska chapter board members. Presentation by Douglas Nelson on developing the relationship of massage therapists with other medical professionals. Douglas Nelson bio pic

Douglas Nelson is Board Certified in Massage Therapy and Therapeutic Bodywork, beginning his career in massage therapy in 1977. Seeing over 1,000 client visits annually, he is also the President of BodyWork Associates, a massage therapy clinic in Champaign, IL. Established in 1982, the clinic has two locations and a staff of eighteen therapists.

He is the founder of NMT MidWest, Inc., providing more than eighty workshops annually in Precision Neuromuscular Therapy™ across the USA. He has personally taught more than 12,000 hours of continuing education, while also being a neuromuscular consultant to professional and collegiate sports teams, dance companies, and a guest lecturer at the University of Illinois Medical School. Doug is also the president of the Massage Therapy Foundation.

Having published many articles in numerous journals and magazines, he is also the author of two books- Table Lessons: Insights in the practice of Massage Therapy and The Mystery of Pain. Doug is the recipient of the 2013 Educator of the Year and 2015 Pioneer Award by the Illinois Chapter of the AMTA and was elected to the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame in 2018.

All refund requests must be emailed to akamta.president@gmail.com by the date listed, or requested through Eventbrite by the date listed.

100% refund ends April 11, 2018 at 11:59 PM Alaska time.

After April 11, 2018, 11:59 PM Alaska time, no refunds will be given.

In case of emergency, your registration may be transferred to another person but you must find the person to transfer the registration to, and give us their name, email, and mailing address. Phone number is optional but can help if we need to contact them. Mailing address is for CEU certificate purposes.
