Event description

Description

Valentine's Day is still a couple of weeks away, but love is already in the air, or at least in the ponds.

With the coming of winter rains, Briones Park newts make their way from summer hideouts to ponds and creeks, where they mate and lay eggs. Our route takes us past newt filled lagoons where we will view these amorous amphibians "in action" and learn their fascinating natural history. It may be a bit early for flowers, but we will stop to smell the mushrooms along the trail.

Ken Lavin and Debbie Klein
