Experiments in Marketing

Marketers have access to more data than ever before. Their most pressing question today is how to make the best use of it. One approach is to adopt something like a scientific method, where marketers deliver campaigns like scientists conduct experiments and analyse their data in a similar way.

In the next in our series of marketers’ breakfasts, we will be discussing experiments in marketing. As ever our conversation will be wide-ranging, with a small group of marketing leaders. Some of the questions that we aim to cover include:

  • What does it mean to experiment in marketing?
  • What are the typical barriers to an experimental way of working?
  • Does experimentation require certain sacrifices, and are they worth it?
  • What is the best approach to experimentation in marketing? Is it iterative and gradual, or ambitious and revolutionary, or are these two less different than they appear?
  • What skills do marketers need to practice an experimental approach to marketing?

So if you have something to say, we would love to hear it. Come along with your opinions on the subject, and your hunger for debate!
